This experimental video was developed during a residency at Laboratorio de Arte, Ciencia y Tecnologia, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. It was the result of a series of participatory workshops with a group of undergraduate and masters students at Tecnológico de Monterrey, who were studying across photography, film, visual arts, nanoscience, and engineering.
In the digital processes we used there was a blinding at play, we were attempting to represent something that humans only have theoretical knowledge of, rather than a phenomena we have experienced with our perceptual and sensory systems. We were not trying to explicitly illustrate submolecular phenomena, but to create a sense of probability, dynamism, wave-particle duality and uncertainty. The abstract visuals combine with a documentary voiceover that anchors the viewer’s experience of the images within the physical submolecular realm.
The work was donated to the Colección del Tecnológico de Monterrey.
